The project involves the reactivation of the Cuneo-Saluzzo-Savigliano and Ceva-Ormea lines for passenger service. These lines, inactive for over 12 years, cover c.100km and serve 16 stations, connecting cities of substantial economic relevance within the region. The reactivation is forecasted to support a program that will boost regional connectivity and contribute to economic development by facilitating access to hospitals, universities and economic centers.

Serena will work jointly with Renfe, Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie (GCF) and Arenaways in this project, reference players in the railway sector. Together, Serena will combine the resources and track record to maximize the potential of this asset.

The project strengthens Serena’s commitment to develop sustainable infrastructure, as rail has a critical role in driving the transition towards sustainable transportation. By reopening passenger service on these routes, this project will substantially reduce C02 emissions, offering an alternative to road travel.
